Vivekananda Kendra Kanyakumari, Dakshin Prant, Karnataka Vibhag, Marathahalli Niyojit Nagar celebrated Universal Brotherhood Day on 11th September 2024 at the College Quadrangle, RJS First Grade Degree College, Koramangala. A total of 300 participants, including students, 30 volunteers, 5 faculty members, and 5 supporting staff, attended the event. The organizing team comprised Kendra Karyakarthas: Sri Shirish Anna, Smt. Padmarekha Akka, Sri Vinay Anna, Smt. Lavanya Akka, and Smt. Veena Akka.
The event was graced by the esteemed Chief Guest, Sri Nithyananda Vivekavamshi Ji, who delivered an insightful speech. He highlighted how Swami Vivekananda's iconic address at the Parliament of Worlds’ Religions in Chicago showcased Bharat's ancient civilization, rich cultural heritage, and its message of Universal Acceptance and Brotherhood. He emphasized that Bharat, as a Hindu nation, has been a beacon of peace and brotherhood for the world.
Following the speech, the Prize Distribution for the Universal Brotherhood Day competitions, held in the college on 9th September, took place.
Smt. Veena Didi presented a report on Kendra activities within the RJS Group of Institutes, while Smt. Padmarekha Didi provided an introduction to the Vivekananda Kendra and its service activities across Bharat.
The event concluded with the National Anthem. Many students showed interest in joining the Kendra as volunteers, expressing their enthusiasm to participate in Kendra activities. A WhatsApp group will be created to facilitate communication, and the Kendra Karyakarthas will follow up with the students to keep them connected and involved.
