Vivekananda Kendra Kanyakumari, Dakshin Prant, Karnataka Vibhag, JP Nagar Branch (Bengaluru), celebrated Universal Brotherhood Day at the Senior Citizens Association, JP Nagar, on 15th September 2024. The program saw an attendance of 50 people, including Kendra Karyakarthas.
The event began with a prayer led by Sri Harsha Ji, followed by a warm welcome from Amitha Didi. Rajani Didi gave a brief introduction about Vivekananda Kendra and its various service activities, highlighting key aspects of the Kendra's mission.
The chief guest, Sri K. Nagabhushana Ji, a senior HR, CSR, and PR executive from Bosch, was introduced by Sri Srikanth R. He delivered an inspiring and insightful speech that lasted for about 30 minutes. Additionally, Sri Pavan Kalyan, a young law student, spoke for 10 minutes on Swami Vivekananda’s historic speech at Chicago and his immense service to Mother India. Dhanya and Bhagya, two students from Sri Vinayaka Vidyalaya, confidently shared their thoughts on the day’s significance, while a group of children from Gauravanagar recited a heartfelt poem on Swami Vivekananda.
One of the highlights of the program was a short skit performed by students of VKV Kallubalu, depicting Swami Vivekananda’s expressions of universal brotherhood through the life examples of Bhagavan Buddha. The performance was well-received by the audience.
Adaraneeya Lalita Didi, introduced by Laxmi Didi, spoke about the Kendra’s activities, practices, and programs, which are centered around Swami Vivekananda’s vision of universal brotherhood.
The event concluded with a vote of thanks from Sri R. Srikanth, who did an excellent job of compering the program. Poornima Didi concluded the celebration with Shanti Mantra. Prasada was then distributed to all participants by Sri Prashanth Ji.
The Senior Citizens Forum provided tremendous support, offering space, chairs, sound systems, and other facilities, ensuring the successful execution of the program.
