Vivekananda Kendra Kanyakumari, Dakshin Prant, Karnataka Vibhag, J.P. Nagar Branch, marked Universal Brotherhood Day with a grand celebration. As the first phase of the celebrations, the branch organized Swadhyaya Competitions for Middle School and High School students from 10 schools in the J.P. Nagar area. A total of 750 students actively participated in those competitions.
Subsequently, a special Prize Distribution function was held at BBMP Senior Citizen Hall in Bengaluru on September 24th, 2023, adding a significant touch to the celebrations. A total of 150 participants attended the event, consisting of 75 students, 25 parents and teachers, 40 members of the public, and 10 Karyakarthas.
The function commenced with a prayer, and Sri K.N. Anantharamu introduced the Chief Guest, extending a warm welcome to the assembled students, teachers, parents, and the public. Sri. Lakshminarayana Ji from Keshava Samvardhana Samithi (Abhyudaya) had the honor of gracing the occasion as the Chief Guest. In his address, he spoke about the life and message of Swami Vivekananda and the profound impact of his historic Chicago Speech.
Dr. Padmarekha Didi, who presided over the event, provided an insightful briefing on Vivekananda Kendra's Vision, Mission, and nationwide activities. She emphasized the importance of parents and teachers' involvement and encouragement in enabling their students to benefit from Kendra's programs.
During the prize distribution ceremony, the Chief Guest encouraged the students to make the most of the Abhyudaya initiative to advance in their lives.
Sri. Ramesh Bhat Ji did sanchalan for the programme. Sri. C.V. Prakash Ji led the Shanthi Pat and Shanti Mantra. Smt. Amitha Manjunath and Sri. Puttanna Ji co-ordinated the event. Professor Sri. Shambulinge Gowda Ji delivered the vote of thanks.
