Vivekananda Kendra Kanyakumari, Assam Prant, Dibrugargh-Tinsukia Vibhag, Tinsukia Branch organized a Surya Namaskar Workshop at Pranabananda Vidya Mandir in Tinsukia. The workshop spanned six days, from 2nd to 8th May 2024. A total of 50 students attended the workshop.
The workshop was inaugurated by His Holiness Swami Biswambharnanda Ji Maharaj by lighting the lamp. Smt. Susmita Sen Gupta, the Principal of the school, encouraged the students to participate in such workshops.
Su. Nabanita Das, Tinsukia Nagar Karyapadhyati Pramukh and Yoga instructor, along with Su. Bahnita Chowdhury, Amrit Pariwar Sankul Pramukh, conducted the workshop. They taught the students loosening exercises and Surya Namaskar with mantras.
On 18th May, the workshop concluded with a Samarpan Samaroh, where all the karyakartas, Swamiji, the Principal of the school, teaching faculty, and 50 students were blessed by Mananeeya Sri Praveen Ji, All India Treasurer of VRM & VK, and Mananeeya Alka Gouri Didi, Assam Prant Pramukh. Fifty students, organized into four teams, presented Surya Namaskar, and a yoga demonstration was also part of the event.
While encouraging the students, Mananeeya Praveen Ji explained the meaning of the mantras chanted during Surya Namaskar and taught the students the true essence of the divine chanting of "Omkara."
