Vivekananda Kendra Kanyakumari, Jammu Branch, in collaboration with the Office of Dean Students’ Welfare, Cluster University of Jammu, organized a special lecture to commemorate Universal Brotherhood Day on 11 September 2026 at the Conference Hall, GGM Science College, Jammu. The programme witnessed a total participation of 180, including students, faculty members and staff.
The programme commemorated Swami Vivekananda’s historic address at the World’s Parliament of Religions in Chicago and highlighted the relevance of his message of universal brotherhood for the youth.
Prof. K.S. Chandrasekar, Hon’ble Vice-Chancellor, Cluster University of Jammu, graced the programme as the Chief Guest, along with Deans, faculty members, staff and students. From Vivekananda Kendra, Shri P.S. Pathaniya, Sah Sanchalak, Uttar Prant, and Shri Anurag Sharma, Nagar Pramukh, were present.
The programme commenced with Deepa Prajwalan, Vande Mataram and Kulgeet. Dr. Vishal Sharma, Dean Students’ Welfare, delivered the welcome address.
Shri Anupam Raina, Senior Advocate, J&K High Court, addressed the gathering on “Youth for One World,” while Shri Lokesh Shri Ram Keshre, Sah Sanghatak, Uttar Prant, spoke on “Swami Vivekananda’s Message to Youth.”
In his address, Prof. K.S. Chandrasekar emphasized the importance of tolerance, unity and character-building among the youth.
The programme concluded with a vote of thanks proposed by Shri Shriyans Jain, followed by the National Anthem.
