Vivekananda Kendra Kanyakumari, Dakshin Prant, Karnataka Vibhag, Mysore Branch celebrated Sister Nivedita Jayanti at two locations on October 28, 2023, with a total of 201 people participating in these events.
At Kendra Karyalaya:
A program was held at Kendra Karyalaya in Mysore from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. The event was presided over by Dr. Chandrashekar Ji, Mysore Nagar Sanchalak. The highlight of the gathering was the release of the book ‘Sodari Nivedita,’ with Dr. Jayashree Didi delivering an insightful speech about the book. Su. Sowmya Didi, who translated the book from English, shared her thoughts on its significance. Mananeeya Nagaratnamma narrated the story of Valmiki and the importance of Rama nama. The event drew an attendance of 21 people in person and an additional 7 participants online.
At Hanumanalu Karyasthan:
Meanwhile, at Hanumanalu Karyasthan, the book ‘Sodari Nivedita’ was released as part of the celebration, and Kum. Thanuja engaged the children with stories of Sister Nivedita. The gathering witnessed the active participation of 23 teachers and 150 enthusiastic students.
