Vivekananda Kendra Kanyakumari, Dakshin Prant, Tamil Nadu Vibhag, Vivekananda Kendra Vidyalaya Matriculation Higher Secondary School, Vallioor organized the Samartha Bharat Parva programs from December 25, 2024, to January 9, 2025, across seven locations, with a total of 627 enthusiastic participants.
The VKV Vallioor team played a pivotal role in organizing these events in the villages where weekly Sanskar Varga are conducted. The students of VKV Vallioor, hailing from these localities, actively assisted in the smooth execution of the programs.
Each program was thoughtfully designed to inspire and engage the youth in understanding their crucial role in shaping the future of India. As part of the proceedings, talks on the essence of Mananeeya Kum. Nivedita Didi’s letter on Samartha Bharat Parva were delivered, highlighting the importance and the underlying significance of celebrating Samartha Bharat Parva.
To further enrich the event, cultural performances such as dances and skits were presented by the students of Sanskar Varga, adding a lively and celebratory atmosphere. The events saw enthusiastic participation not only from the Sanskar Varga students but also from their parents and local community members, creating a vibrant environment of unity, pride, and cultural reflection.
The Samartha Bharat Parva programs held across various locations in the Vallioor region were graced by distinguished guests and saw vibrant participation from the local communities. The details of the local programs are as follows:
- Vallioor: The program at Vallioor was honored by the presence of Sri S. Thanu, the 11th Ward Member of Vallioor. The event was attended by 75 participants.
- Nanguneri: In Nanguneri, the event was graced by Smt. Sangeetha, the Block Educational Officer, and Sri. Ganapathy, the retired Personal Assistant to the Collector of Tirunelveli, as the chief guests. Their presence added immense value to the program, which saw 55 participants engaging in discussions and cultural activities.
- Thirukkurungudi: The program at Thirukkurungudi was attended by Sri Arumugananainar and Smt. Geetha Arumugananainar, Ward Councillor, with 75 participants from the locality coming together to celebrate India’s heritage and future.
- Seelathikulam: Seelathikulam witnessed an impressive turnout, with 150 participants. The chief guest, Smt. Santhana Mari Venugopal, President of Kumbikulam, graced the occasion, inspiring the attendees to reflect on the role of youth in nation-building.
- Ramakrishnapuram: Sri. Bhaskar, a prominent local businessman and proprietor, served as the chief guest at Ramakrishnapuram. With 70 participants, the event was marked by lively discussions and cultural performances, highlighting the significance of Samartha Bharat Parva.
- A. Thirumalapuram: The program in A. Thirumalapuram was led by Smt. Indira Sankara Moorthi, the President of the village, who was the chief guest for the occasion. The event attracted a large crowd of 150 participants.
7. VKV MHSS – Vallioor: The Samartha Bharat Parva celebration at Vivekananda Kendra Vidyalaya MHSS, Vallioor, took place on December 25, 2024, with 52 teachers in attendance. Sri S. K. Subramanian, the Correspondent, and Sri T. Muthukrishnan, the Principal, presided over the event.
Each of these programs played a vital role in connecting the community to the larger vision of a strong and self-reliant India, fostering a spirit of unity, pride, and active participation among the youth and the public.
