Vivekananda Kendra Kanyakumari, Dakshin Prant, Tamil Nadu Vibhag, Vivekananda Kendra Vidyalaya Matriculation Higher Secondary School, Kanyakumari, celebrated the Samartha Bharat Parva at the school premises on 25th December 2024, starting at 9:30 a.m. A total of 127 people, including teachers, staff, and students, participated in the event.
Samartha Bharat Parva celebrates the strength of Bharat, observed from 25th December—the first day of Swami Vivekananda's meditation on the rock in 1892—to 12th January, the birth anniversary of Swami Vivekananda.
The program began with a prayer. Dr. R. Sundara Kumar Ji, a teacher at the school, welcomed the gathering and explained the significance of celebrating Samartha Bharat Parva. All the participants sang Vande Mataram song, and the Bharat Mata Arati was played. A Bharat Mata Puja was performed as part of the celebration. The event concluded with the Kendra Prarthana. After the program, prasadam was distributed to all attendees.
