Vivekananda Kendra Kanyakumari, Dakshin Prant, Tamil Nadu Vibhag, Vivekananda Kendra Vidyalaya Matriculation Higher Secondary School, Vallioor organized the Sadhana Diwas celebration and the concluding ceremony of the Science Exhibition on 19th November 2024.
A total of 1,300 students, including those from Sri Vidya Mandir Matriculation School, Vallioor, and 82 parents, participated in the event, which was held at the Yoga Hall of VKV Vallioor starting at 10:30 a.m. Dr. Sathish, Scientific Officer at NPCIL, Koodankulam, graced the occasion as the Chief Guest, and Shri S.K. Subramanian ji, the Correspondent of the school, presided over the program. Sri Kanaga Akhilesh from Class XI anchored the event.
The program began with the lighting of the ceremonial lamp by the Chief Guest and the Correspondent. Sri Rohit Mano from Class VI warmly welcomed the gathering. Kum. Siva Nanthini and Sri Udhaya from Class X presented an engaging discussion about the Vivekananda Rock Memorial and the life history of Mananeeya Sri Eknathji Ranade.
Sri Santhosh from Class XII delivered an insightful presentation on Chapters 15 to 20 of the book Sadhana of Service.
As a part of Children’s Day celebration, various competitions were conducted and the students participated enthusiastically. The winners of these competitions were honored by the Chief Guest.
In his address, Dr. Sathish highlighted the significant role of science in daily life, the challenges posed by society’s reluctance to embrace advancing technology in certain areas, and his professional experience related to Nuclear Power Plants.

The program concluded with a vibrant cultural performance by the students, showcasing their talent in both traditional and contemporary art forms. The event was a grand success, thanks to the efforts of the students and parents. The program concluded with the Kendra Prarthana.
