Vivekananda Kendra Kanyakumari, Dakshin Prant, Tamil Nadu Vibhag, Vivekananda Kendra Vidyalaya Matriculation Higher Secondary School, Kanyakumari, organized the Sadhana Diwas celebration and the concluding ceremony of the Science & Arts Exhibition on 19th November 2024. The event, held at the Swami Vivekananda Sabhagriham from 2 p.m., saw the active participation of 1,230 participants, including students and parents.

The Science and Arts Exhibition, which took place from 14th November 2024, featured a wide range of creative science and art models displayed by the students. The exhibition was open to visitors from 2:30 p.m. to 4 p.m. every day till 19th November, and the displayed models received great appreciation from the visitors.

Dr. S. Jeyachandran, M.A., M.Phil., Ph.D., Assistant Professor in Tamil at Vivekananda College of Education, Agasteeswaram, graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. The program was presided over by Mananeeya Sri Hanumantaraoji, the Vice President of VRM & VK. Kum. S. Tiffany from IX-C anchored the event.

The celebration commenced with an invocation by the students of class IX, followed by a welcome address delivered by Kum. S. Heina of class XI. Kum. N.P. Hahina of class XI spoke about the significance of the day. Kum. I. Sarva Rakshitha Sri from class III, who won first prize in the music competition held on Children’s Day, sang a rhythmic song.

Dr. S. Jeyachandran, in his address, emphasized several key points, including the teachings of Maanikavasagar’s poem, the importance of working together to ensure continuity, the promise made by MBBS students, the need to avoid plastic usage, and the significance of medicinal plants.

Following the Chief Guest’s address, Kum. Nubisha from class VII-A sang a melodious song, while Kum. Aro Ribishini of class XII-B discussed the merits and demerits of robots. The students of class IX performed a patriotic song in Hindi.

Mananeeya Sri Hanumantaraoji also addressed the gathering, delivering an inspiring talk in which he reflected on Mananeeya Sri Eknathji Ranade’s efforts to construct the memorial for Swami Vivekananda, and the importance of a purposeful and focused life. He conveyed the message of Swamiji and highlighted the three key factors for success: excellence, efficiency, and endless effort. He concluded by stressing that our lives should serve as an inspiration to others.

To celebrate Children’s Day, various competitions, including drawing, music, quiz, elocution, and fancy dress, were held. The winners were honored by the Chief Guest and Mananeeya Hanumantaraoji. Mananeeya Hanumantaraoji also presented a memento to the esteemed Chief Guest. Kum. Bershiba of class IX delivered the vote of thanks, and the event concluded with the Kendra Prarthana
