Vivekananda Kendra Kanyakumari, Dakshin Prant, Tamil Nadu Vibhag, Vivekananda Kendra Vidyalaya, Kanyakumari, organized a Personality Development Camp for the VI standard students of the school. The camp took place from the 26th to the 29th of October, 2023, at the Vivekanandapuram campus. A total of 96 students participated in the camp, along with 6 members of the staff.
The camp commenced with Bhajan Sandhya on the 26th of October. Smt. K.G. Sariga, the Principal of VKV, Kanyakumari, addressed the participants and provided insights into the camp's aims and objectives at 8:30 p.m.
On the 27th of October, the camp's daily routine began at 6 a.m. with pratahsmaran, followed by yogabhyas, shrama samskara, and alpahar. In the first session at 9:30 a.m., Smt. Vimala Akka, a Balwadi Teacher from VK Marthandam, narrated the Ramayana. Kum. Leela Akka, a VK-RDP Karyakartha, explained incidents from the life of Swami Vivekananda in the second session. Afterward, the participants had lunch, followed by a song session conducted by Sri. Manikumar ji, the Music Teacher at VKV. Later, there was a session on the Mahabharatha led by Smt. Kalarani Akka, a Balwadi Teacher from VK Sakthithanapuram. The students also enacted incidents from the life of Swami Vivekananda in groups. All participants enthusiastically took part in the Kendra Varga and Bhajan Sandhya. The day's sessions concluded with a Happy assembly.
On the 28th of October, the students had sessions on the Story of Vivekananda Rock Memorial by Dr. R. Sundarakumar Ji, a Teacher at VKV Kanyakumari, and the Life of Swami Vivekananda by Smt. T. Sindhu, also a Teacher at VKV Kanyakumari. After lunch, all the participants visited the Vivekananda Rock Memorial.
The camp concluded with a session on the 29th of October, 2023, at 8:30 a.m., where Mananeeya Nivedita Didi, the All-India Vice President of VRM & VK, addressed the students.
