Vivekananda Kendra Kanyakumari, Dakshin Prant, Tamil Nadu Vibhag, Madurai Brach, organized a Non-residential Personality Development Camp for Children at TVS Nagar Karyalaya, Madurai. The camp spanned 10 days from May 3, 2024, to May 12, 2024, with sessions held daily from 4 pm to 6 pm, coinciding with the summer vacation. A total of 38 students actively participated in a wide range of activities aimed at fostering their personal development.
The program included engaging in various activities such as games, songs, group discussions, fireless cooking, Shram Sanskar, Aagnyabhyas and learning sessions to help the children develop their personalities. The children practiced Surya Namaskar, Yogasana, Pranayama, and meditation daily to promote their physical, mental, and spiritual well-being. They were also engaged in arts and crafts activities like drama and making seed balls. Furthermore, the screening of animated movies were used as a tool to impart important values, and the students were enthralled with narrated stories that focused on themes like dedication, learning from failures, sacrifice, and discipline Additionally, the participants were encouraged to lead and organize activities themselves for one day during the camp, allowing them to develop leadership and organizational skills.
The concluding session held on 12-May-2024, featured a captivating address by Sri. Balakrishnan ji, a distinguished auditor from Thoothukudi, who shared profound insights on the topic 'Purposeful Life to Successful Life' with the eager participants. The presence of parents added an extra layer of warmth and emotion as they recounted touching stories of observing positive transformations in their children as a direct result of the camp.
Looking ahead, the children are set to embark on a journey of continued growth and development through their participation in the Weekly Sanskar Varga in the weeks to come.
