Vivekananda Kendra Kanyakumari, Dakshin Prant, Tamil Nadu Vibhag, Vivekananda Kendra Vidyalaya Matriculation Higher Secondary School, Vallioor celebrated Mother’s Day on 28th February 2025 at the school premises from 2 p.m. onwards.
The event was presided over by Shri S.K. Subramanian Ji, Correspondent of the school, while Siva Thirumathi Nalini Murugan, M.A., M.A., Saivasidhananda Rathinam, Thiruvadudurai Adhinam, and Saivasidhananda Professor, Eruvadi, graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. Thirumathi Vijayalakshmi was present as the Special Guest. A total of 1,038 people, including 950 students and 88 parents, participated in the celebration.
The program commenced with a prayer song and was formally inaugurated with Deepa Prajwalan (lighting of the ceremonial lamp) by Siva Thirumathi Nalini Murugan, Shri S.K. Subramanian Ji, Vice Principal Smt. S. Devi, and a few parents.
Smt. Saravana Usha, a teacher, delivered the welcome address, followed by an inspiring speech on Mother’s Day by Smt. Thilaga. The Chief Guest, Siva Thirumathi Nalini Murugan, then delivered an eloquent address on mother’s love.
As part of the celebrations, various competitions were conducted for the participants, including cook-off, essay writing, and games. Parents enthusiastically participated in these competitions and won prizes.
The Correspondent presented mementos to the Chief Guest and Special Guest as a token of appreciation. Shri Bharathiraja, a teacher, delivered the vote of thanks. The event concluded with the Kendra Prarthana.
