Vivekananda Kendra Kanyakumari, Dakshin Prant, Tamil Nadu Vibhag, Vivekananda Kendra Vidyalaya Matriculation Higher Secondary School, Kanyakumari, organized a Matru Puja at Swami Vivekananda Sabhagriham on February 15, 2024, starting at 2:30 p.m. A total of 112 students, along with their mothers, participated in the event.
The program was hosted by teacher Smt. P. Umaselvi, while Smt. K. Kavitha delivered the welcome address. Smt. P. Umaselvi explained the significance of Matru Puja and led the ceremony. Following the instructions, students washed their parents' feet, applied sandalwood paste and Kumkum, and offered flowers at their parents' feet. This heartfelt gesture evoked deep emotions and blessings from the parents.
At the conclusion of the celebration, four parents and six students shared their experiences. The vote of thanks was extended by teacher Sri K. Rajukumar, and the program concluded with the chanting of the Shanti Mantra.
