Gurupurnima is one of the five Utsavas celebrated in Vivekananda Kendra. In Kendra, Omkara is revered as the Guru, and every year, Gurupurnima is celebrated grandly by all branch centers and projects of Vivekananda Kendra across Bharat.
This year, Vivekananda Kendra Kanyakumari, Arunachal Prant, Arun Jyoti project celebrated Gurupurnima at Balwadis and Anandalayas in Arunachal Pradesh. The programmes were held at 43 places with 1,005 students participating. The Arun Jyoti project implements various activities and platforms, including the Anaupcharik Shiksha Manch (Informal Education).
From 21st to 24th July 2024, 28 Balwadis with a total of 763 students and 15 Anandalayas with 242 students celebrated the Gurupurnima, engaging 105 Karyakartas, Balsevikas, and Anandalaya prabandhaks. This year Anaupcharik Shiksha Manch under Arun Jyoti project has covered 4 districts, 13 circles across the state.
Notable events included:
- At Mahadevpur Town Balwadi, LBS Govt. Middle School Teacher Adharneeya S.K Suman ji preside over the Gurupurnima program, joined by parents of Balwadi students.
- At Old Mohong village Balwadi, Arun Jyoti project's Swasthya Seva Manch Pramukh Adharneeya Dr. Debashish Dey Ji attended the program and conducted a free medical camp, benefiting around 20 villagers.
This celebration showcased the project's commitment to education and community service.
