Vivekananda Kendra Kanyakumari, Dakshin Prant, Kerala Vibhag, Guruvayur Branch celebrated Gita Jayanti at the Vaikkattil family Temple in Vatanapally on 21st December 2024, from 4 p.m. to 5 p.m. A total of 18 people attended the event.

The program began with the chanting of three Omkars followed by Shanti Pat. Adaraneeya Raghunathan Nair K.P. Ji, a Jeevan-vrati karyakarta of Vivekananda Kendra Kanyakumari, was introduced to the audience by Sri Jyothivas Ji, Karyasthan Sanyojak, and the event was presided over by Shri Harilal Ji, Karyasthan Sah Sanyojak.

In his address, Raghunathan Nair K.P. Ji spoke on the responsibilities and relationships within a family, referencing verses from the Mahabharata and Bhagavad Gita. He introduced the concept of ‘Amrita Parivar’ and highlighted the importance of parental responsibilities in raising children, quoting examples from the life of Gandhari. He further explained an individual's duties to their family, society, and, most importantly, their country. Raghunathan Ji also touched upon the significance of Ishta Devatha (One's own God), Kula Devatha (Family God), and Grama Devatha (Village God) in a person’s life.

Towards the conclusion, there was a question-and-answer session. An introduction was also given on the regular activities of Vivekananda Kendra, and family members expressed interest in conducting a Yoga Varga at the temple premises. The Utsava program concluded with the recitation of the Shanti Mantra.
