Vivekananda Kendra Kanyakumari, Dakshin Prant, Karnataka Vibhag, Vivekananda Kendra Vidyalaya Kallubalu organized a Free Medical Camp in association with Apollo Hospital, Meenakshi ENT Speciality Hospital, Banashankari, and Staleeya Hitarakshana Vedike, Bengaluru. The camp was held at our school on August 19, 2023, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
The camp was inaugurated by lighting the lamp. Dr. Sudarshan ji, a member of the Rotary Club, along with other doctors, participated in the lamp lighting ceremony. The teachers of the school, Kendra karyakarthas, parents and students were present during the inauguration. Aadharneeya Lalita Didi, the Secretary of VKV Kallubalu and Aadharneeya Sri. Nagesh ji, Vyavasta Pramukh of VKV Prakalpa Samithi, Kallubalu also graced the occasion.
The students from all classes, from I to X, benefited from the free general eye check-up as well as ENT check-up. Diabetes and B.P. tests were conducted for the elderly people. The medical staff were highly efficient, cooperative, and also very interested in learning about the activities of Vivekananda Kendra. Everyone who participated in the camp was extremely pleased to have this facility available in the rural area. It was generally observed that many students were experiencing eye problems due to radiation from cell phones.
A total of 315 students and 110 parents benefited from this medical camp.
