Vivekananda Kendra Kanyakumari, Arunachal Prant, Vivekananda Kendra Arun Jyoti, organized a Free Eye Screening Camp at Community Health Centre, Changlang, Miao District, from 18th to 20th February 2025.
Dr. Udayan Dixit, a highly experienced and renowned ophthalmologist from Pune, Maharashtra, rendered his valuable service voluntarily during the camp. He examined 175 eye patients during the camp. Various eye diseases were diagnosed, and treatments were provided accordingly. A total of 65 pairs of reading glasses and eye drops were distributed free of cost to needy patients. Patients from far-flung areas like Vijay Nagar, Gandhi Gram, Empen, Dewan, Namphai I & II, and other villages benefited from the camp.
On 18th February 2025, the camp was inaugurated by Dr. Temik Khimhun, the Senior Medical Officer of CHC, Miao. In his brief address, he fondly mentioned his association with Vivekananda Kendra Arun Jyoti and its Swasthya Seva activities. He lauded the efforts made by Vivekananda Kendra to improve the quality of life of the rural masses through primary healthcare in remote areas.
In his speech, Dr. Udayan Dixit shared his previous camp experiences. Since 2018, he has been coming to Arunachal Pradesh for eye screening camps. He stated that with his highly sophisticated eye equipment, he is committed to providing the same quality of service to rural people as he does for his patients in his own clinics in Pune and the UK.
It is worth mentioning that Dr. Dixit has previously conducted eye screening camps in Khonsa, Longding, Wakka, Wakro, and Hawai, treating more than 800 patients so far.
