Vivekananda Kendra Kanyakumari, Arunachal Prant, Arun Jyoti Project organized a District Level Traditional Dance and Drama Competition on 12th January 2025 to commemorate Swami Vivekananda Jayanti and National Youth Day. The event was held at Gumin Kiin, Aalo, West Siang District, Arunachal Pradesh, and brought together participants from seven circles, including Kombo, Pushi Bango Bagra, Kamba, Darak, Liromoba, Yomcha, and Nikte. The cultural celebration witnessed enthusiastic participation from a total of 300 attendees.
The program began with the traditional lighting of the lamp by esteemed guests, including Dr. Tejum Padu Ji, Sri Doi Kamduk Ji, Sri Mogi Ori Ji, Swami Samananda Giri, and Sri Gomar Angu Ji. A panel of expert judges, comprising Sri Tado Ado Ji, Shri Lojen Kamcham Ji, and Sri Kirmin Doji Ji, was present to evaluate the performances.
The traditional dance competition saw enthusiastic participation from all seven circles. Darak Circle emerged as the winner, while Kombo Pomte Circle secured the runner-up position. Similarly, the traditional drama competition showcased exceptional talent, with Liromoba Circle winning first place and Darak Circle taking the second position.
The winners were honored with cash prizes, with the first prize winners receiving ₹25,000 and the second prize winners receiving ₹15,000. The event was attended by notable dignitaries, including Sri Bamo Joni Ji, Sri Markar Padu Ji, Dr. Taking Passar Ji, Sri Kanya Bagra Ji, Smt. Minam Tayeng Ado, and Smt. Mojum Ete Ado.
The circle coordinators played a vital role in the event’s success. Sri Hento Bagra Ji, Sri Dubin Ado Ji, Sri Jirdo Karbak Ji, Sri Gobi Romin Ji, Smt. Tumpe Poyom Bogo Ji, Sri Lukde Potom Ji, and Sri Dagli Ori Ji diligently oversaw the preparations for their respective circles.
This competition aimed to promote and preserve the rich cultural heritage of the region, offering a platform for local talent to showcase their skills and creativity. The event was widely appreciated by participants and attendees alike, highlighting the efforts of Vivekananda Kendra Kanyakumari, Arunachal Prant, in organizing such a meaningful and engaging celebration of Swami Vivekananda Jayanti.
