“Unity in diversity” is the special feature of our Country. On 15th August 1947, India attained freedom from the British rule. So the Independence Day is therefore celebrated with great rejoicing all over the Country. On this special occasion, rich tributes are paid to the freedom fighters who sacrificed their lives and fought to free our mother land from the clutches of shook off the shackles of British rule and become free. It was a right of celebrate all over the country.
With the great enthusiasm, we celebrated the 67th Independence Day celebration in our school at 8.30 AM.
At first, the programme was initiated by the song “Vandhe Matharam”. It was sung by our VIII and IX standard students.
Next, our tri-coloured National Flag was hoisted by our special guest Manneeya. Hanumanta Raoji, Treasurer of Vivekananda Kendra. By unfurling our tri-coloured National Flag, we saluted our Mother Bharath.
Next, our National Anthem was sung by all to honour our Country. Then, pledge was presented by P.M.Nivethini of IX standard student.
Next, welcome speech was given by Suresh of XI standard student. Then, the blossoming buds of V.K.V. expressed the unity through their ‘Mass Drill’. A marvelous performance was given by the students of Vivekananda Kendra Vidyalaya.
Next, a patriotic ‘Hindi Song’ was sung by our charming pupils of VII and VIII standard. They expressed their love of country and about our great patriotic leaders through the song. Then Joy Blessy of XI standard student delivered the ‘Speech in English’ about the importance of this day.
Next, VII and VIII standard boys performed ‘Dumb Bells’ and shown their unity, uniformity, co-operation, discipline and dedication. Then, XI standard students exhibited their patriotic spirit through Tamil Drama named ‘Veera Pandia Kattabomman’, and kindled the patriotic spirit among our students.
Next, Music Dance was performed by V and VI standard girls and they entertained the audience through the folk dance. Then, M.Nivethitha Bharathi of IX standard student delivered the ‘Speech in Hindi’ about the importance of ‘Independence Day’. Then, the Chief Guest named Lt. Col. V.V.Prasad, Officer Commanding, TN branch NCC, addressed about the importance of the day and the national leaders who fought for the freedom of our country. He expressed his views about our former President Dr. A.P.J.Abdul Kalam, who said our country would be a developed country in the year 2020. Then he mentioned about the three essential things, the disciplined character, the good health and the education to improve the personality of our life.
Next the body builders of XI standard boys exposed their strength by ‘Pyramid’. Then, the exercise was combined with music and VI, VIII and IX standard girls performed it through their ‘Lezium’.
Special Guest address: Manneeya Hanumanta Raoji, Treasurer of Vivekananda Kendra Vidyalaya addressed about the importance of the day and it was the day to remember about our freedom fighters. Next, he spoke about the different languages, cultures, and traditions in India. He also added how Swami Vivekananda inspired the freedom fighters and most of them had the photograph of Swami Vivekananda or Bhagavat Gita with them in prison.
Next, the students of VII, VIII and IX boys were warming-up the audience through their band display. Then, the rank holders of the previous academic year (2012-2013) were honoured with prizes and it was distributed by our Chief Guest and the Special Guest. The prize list was read by Smt. P.Jeya.
Next, our Special Guest Manneeya Hanumanta Raoji, Treasurer of Vivekananda Kendra Vidyalaya presented a memento to our honourable Chief Guest. Then, Priyanka of XI standard student proposed the Vote of Thanks.
We concluded our programme by ‘Kendra Prayer’.
