Youth power to propel the Nation to higher level of excellence for new India: CMD NALCO
Addressing the event as the Chief Guest, Dr. Chand called upon the youth to be disciplined, dedicated and determined to achieve their targets in life. Dr. Chand also stressed on adoption of well integrated system of education that will be instrumental in developing the moral character of an individual. “The greater goal of education is making better human-beings, thereby building a great Nation. The goal of all education, all training, should be directed towards man-making”, he said.
In the sidelines of the event, sharing his thoughts on “NALCO ki Ladli’ Scheme, being implemented by NALCO similar to ‘Beti Bachao Beti Padhao’ programme of Govt of India, Dr Chand said that such initiatives aims at supporting a large number of meritorious girls from BPL families to have access to higher education. “ Besides, we are con
sciously working on effective plans to promote Skill Development including vocational skills among children, women, youth and differently abled, which would enhance employability and offer them better livelihood. I believe, these initiatives would contribute towards Nation-building in the days ahead, he added.
The event was organised by Vivekananda Kendra Kanyakumari, (Bhubaneswar Branch) to celebrate the birthday of great spiritual leader Swami Vivekananda, which is also being observed as National Youth Day. Among others, Shri Surasen Jena, Retd IAS, Srimant Swami Aryananda, Joint Secretary, Ramakrishna Math, Bhubaneswar, and Shri Santap Kumar Jena, Nagar Pramukh, Vivekananda Kendra Kanyakumari (Bhubaneswar Branch) were also present on the occasion.
