The youth of the country should imbibe Swami Vivekananda’s ideals, Vishwa Hindu Parishad district president and Vivekananda Utsava Samiti leader, K. Ramudu, said on Tuesday.
Swami Vivekananda’s 150th jayanti festivities will be celebrated all over the country from January 2013 to December 2013, he said in the ‘Sankalp Divas’ programme organised at Saraswathi Vidya Mandir at Rajampet on Tuesday.
Speaking about Swami Vivekananda’s life and teachings, Mr. Ramudu said meditation was ‘thinking deeply with concentration’. Swamiji’s thought revolved around the potential of youth and their role in nation-building, he added.
Swami Vivekananda displayed his respect for alien cultures and religions and portrayed the glorious culture and history of India during his visits abroad, the VHP President said. He explained the intricacies of meditation for a few minutes to the youth.
