Vivekananda Kendra Kanyakumari, Dakshin Prant, Karnataka Vibhag, Mandya Niyojit Nagar, celebrated Universal Brotherhood Day at Chandagalu on 13th September 2024. A total of 58 Anandalaya students, along with two teachers, participated in the event.
Universal Brotherhood Day, observed annually on 11th September, commemorates Swami Vivekananda’s profound message of universal brotherhood, delivered at the Parliament of Religions in Chicago on 11th September 1893. It is one of the five Utsavas celebrated by Vivekananda Kendra across all its branches and prakalphas in Bharat.
The program at Chandagalu began with a prayer, followed by a song dedicated to Swami Vivekananda,“Vivekanandara Bhajisona.” An inspiring story from Swami Vivekananda’s life was then narrated, and a guided meditation session was conducted for the students. The students were attentive and keenly followed the instructions during the meditation.
