As a part of Samartha Bharat Parva celebrations, Vivekananda Kendra Kanyakumari, West Bengal Prant, Paschimbanga Prant, Shanti Niketan Vibhag, Durgapur Nagar organized a three-day event to celebrate National Youth Day and Swami Vivekananda Jayanti. The program was held at Vivekananda Uddyan, M.A.M.C., Durgapur Nagar, from January 10 to 12, 2025, and focused on Swami Vivekananda's life, philosophy, and patriotic values.
The celebration began on January 10, 2025, with a Nagar Parikrama, where 51 youth carried the Flaming Mashal (Vivek Jyoti) through a 10-km route. Participants enthusiastically promoted Swamiji's teachings, chanting Jai-Ghosh and Swadesh Mantra, and raising awareness about the three-day program. Cycle and bike teams joined the procession, adding to the energy and vibrancy of the inaugural day.
On January 11, 2025, the second day of the event featured a combination of meaningful and engaging activities, including Surya Namaskar sessions, a quiz on Swami Vivekananda, and Sanskrit shloka recitation competitions. The involvement of karyakartas and students from various schools and colleges brought a dynamic and significant dimension to the day.
The final day, January 12, 2025, coinciding with National Youth Day, was marked by a celebration dedicated to Swami Vivekananda. The day began with worship in his honor and included recitations from the Bhagavad Gita. Various competitions were organized, such as drawing, Manishi Sajo (dressing up as great personalities of Bharat), Bhakti Geet (devotional songs), and conch blowing, which fostered creativity and enthusiasm among the participants.
The highlight of the day was the Dharma Sabha, where Shri Janardan Ghosh ji, Education Officer at Madhusthali, MCKV Group of Institutes, Deoghar, and former Research Scholar and TA at RKM Vivekananda University, Belur, delivered the keynote address. His speech focused on the significance of Hinduism and the vital role of Dharma Sabha in preserving cultural values.
