Vivekananda Kendra Kanyakumari, Dakshin Prant, Tamil Nadu Vibhag, Vivekananda Kendra Vidyalaya Matriculation Higher Secondary School, Vallioor celebrated Teachers’ Day on 5th September 2024 on the school premises. A total of 850 students and 47 parents participated in the event, which was presided over by the Correspondent of the School, Sri S.K. Subramanian Ji.
Teachers’ Day is observed annually on 5th September to commemorate the birth anniversary of Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan—a philosopher, scholar, teacher, and the second President of Independent India—who dedicated his life to education.
On this special day, Class VIII students were encouraged to step into the role of teachers, dressing in formal attire and teaching pre-prepared lessons in allotted classes, giving them a hands-on experience of teaching.
The celebrations began at 3 p.m. with the inauguration by the Correspondent and Principal of the School. The program started with a prayer song performed by the students, followed by a welcome address delivered by a student.
Various games were organized for the teachers, and prizes were distributed to the winners, as well as to the students who acted as teachers for the day. Teachers also received complimentary prizes and sweets, presented by the Correspondent, Sri S.K. Subramanian Ji.
The event concluded with a vote of thanks by a student and Kendra Prarthana.
