Vivekananda Kendra Kanyakumari, Dakshin Prant, Kerala Vibhag, Guruvayur Branch, organized the Swami Vivekananda Jayanti Celebration at Saraswathy Vidyanikethan Central School, Engandiyur, on 13th January 2025, from 8:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. The event saw enthusiastic participation, with a total of 400 attendees, including students, teachers, and Kendra karyakarthas.
The program began with the Deepa prajwalan (ceremonial lighting of the lamp) by Vivekananda Kendra Karyakartas, followed by floral tributes to Swami Vivekananda and Bharat Mata. The celebration was scheduled during the morning school assembly, ensuring the presence of all students and teachers.
Sri Prabhakaran ji, Sanjyojak of VK Guruvayur, delivered an inspiring message on the significance of Samartha Bharata Parva and Swami Vivekananda Jayanti. He emphasized the importance of loving one’s mother and showing respect to teachers and gurus, drawing references from Swami Vivekananda’s life to inspire the students.
A token of appreciation from Vivekananda Kendra (a photograph of Swami Vivekananda) was presented to Kumari Vaiga, a 7th-standard student, for her active participation during an interactive session conducted a few months earlier by Adarneeya Raghunathan ji, a Jeevan-vratti Karyakarta of Vivekananda Kendra. The gift was handed over by VK Karyakarta, Wing Commander Sri Loknathan ji (Retired).
Additionally, 85 copies of the Malayalam version of the book “Swami Vivekananda’s Rousing Call to Hindu Nation” were handed over to the school authorities for distribution among the students.
The program concluded with the Shanti Mantra, leaving everyone inspired and uplifted.
