As a part of Navaratri Celebrations, Vivekananda Kendra Kanyakumari, Dakshin Prant, Kerala Vibhag, Vivekananda Kendra Vedic Vision Foundation, Kodungallur organized a sacred Kumari Puja at the VK-VVF Karyalaya, Kodungallur on 12th October, 2024. The event saw a total participation of 70 people, including 25 children.
Kumari Puja, also known as Kanya Puja, is a traditional Hindu ritual that involves the worship of girl children as embodiments of the Divine Mother or Goddess Durga. The VK-VVF conducted the Kumari Puja with the children of Sandeepani Sisuvihar, accompanied by their parents, teachers, and family members.
Mananeeya Dr. Lakshmi Kumari Didi, Director of VK-VVF, graced the occasion. She blessed the children, guided the Kumari Puja, and addressed the gathering. Dr. Lakshmi Kumari Didi also explained the spiritual and cultural significance of Kumari Puja.
The arrangements were excellently managed by Sushri P. K. Bindu Chechi’s team, ensuring the smooth conduct of the ceremony. Many mothers expressed that the experience was both spiritually enriching and emotionally uplifting.
