Vivekananda Kendra Kanyakumari, Dakshin Prant, Karnataka Vibhag, Vivekananda Kendra Vidyalaya Kallubalu organized a Kishori Vikas Shibir for the girl students of the school, from 14th to 20th July 2024 (seven days). A total of 40 students actively participated throughout the shibir.
On 14th July, Sunday, the Kishori Vikas Shibir was inaugurated by Smt. Vijayalakshmi Amma from the Sahasra Deepika organization. It began at 10 a.m. with Shantipat. Adarneeya Lalitha Didi, the Secretary of VKV Kallubalu, addressed the participants and explained the importance and purpose of the shibir.
Enlightening sessions were held on the following topics:
- “Nanu nanna manassina swamini” (I am the ruler of my mind) by Dr. Padmarekha Didi.
- “Mythri, Prema” by Ma. Nagalakshmi Didi.
- “Swavalambi Mahila” by Soumya Didi.
- “Social media” by Mitra Didi.
- “Build your life” by Vidyashree Didi.
- “Ojas Samvardhane” by Shruthi Didi.
- “Kishori Suraksha” by Rekha Mohan Didi.
- “Soundarya” by Padma Bhardarkar Didi.
- “Kishori ka Swashthya” by Rajashri Didi.
Additionally, vibrant goshanas and games were taught to the young participants. The shibir's schedule focused on the holistic personality development of the participants.
The concluding programme of the shibir was held on 20th July from 4 p.m. It started with a prayer, followed by the Aikya mantra and shibir geet. The guests, Smt. Padma Bhardarkar Didi and Smt. Rajashri Didi, inaugurated the programme with Deepa Prajwalan (lighting the lamp). Smt. Shruthi Didi presented the report of the Kishori Vikas Shibir. Students from each gana shared their experiences of attending the shibir. Adharneeya Padmarekha Didi and Smt. Suravi Didi addressed and guided the students. Smt. Sarala Didi delivered the vote of thanks, and the program concluded with the Shanti mantra and Kendra prarthana.
