Vivekananda Kendra Kanyakumari, Dakshin Prant, Karnataka Vibhag organized a ‘Kendra Darshana’, a Bhraman to Vivekanandapuram in Kanyakumari from January 2nd to 6th, 2024. The objective of this Bhraman was to showcase the roots of Kendra and our efforts for the advancement of our nation, "Bharat." A total of 60 participants, including 18 brothers and 42 sisters, took part in this bhraman.
During the visit, participants explored various sites such as Vivekananda Kendra, exhibitions within the Vivekanandapuram campus, Mananeeya Sri Eknath ji’s Samadhi, Ramayana Darshan, Vivekananda Rock Memorial, Kanyakumari Devi temple, Suchindram Temple, Tirupathi Balaji Temple, and Maruthwa Malai Trekking.
A lecture session was arranged with Dakshin Prant Sangathak Aadarneeya Radha Devi Didi and the All India President of VRM & VK Mananeeya Balakrishnan ji for an interactive session to understand Kendra’s ideology and our efforts in propagating Swami Vivekananda's message across the country.
Aa. Radha Didi conveyed her joy in welcoming karyakarthas from Dakshin Prant and emphasized Karnataka’s contribution, specifically Ganesh Beedi Works' support in constructing the Vivekananda Rock Memorial. She narrated the history of Vivekananda Rock Memorial and the story of Kanyakumari Devi. Additionally, she underscored the significance of the Vivekananda Rock Memorial as a symbol of Bharat's unity.
Mananeeya Balakrishnan ji spoke about Sanatan Dharma, distinguishing it from religion, defining it as duty aligned with nature and God. He emphasized the duty towards all creations of God. Dharmo Rakshati Rakshitah, Evam pravartitam chakram. The same cycle repeats: reaching the source is the purpose of life. Life is not solely about possessions like cars, jobs, or money; its essence lies in reaching the source. Swami ji, initially unsure of his purpose, meditated at Kanyakumari rock, where Kanyakumari Devi did tapasya for Lord Shiva. There he discovered his mission of life which is to organize and awaken the masses. He then traveled abroad to spread Bharat's culture and knowledge, eventually founding the RK Mission.
The lecture inspired many attendees, leading to around 25 people becoming Patrons, while some expressed interest in becoming Karyakartas of Vivekananda Kendra. The ‘Kendra Darshana’ was not just a sightseeing venture; it aimed to explore our history, facing the reality, and work towards a better future.
