He emphasized that within any 10 km radius in Bharat, there will be a freedom fighter born there. The freedom struggle in Bharat was not confined to any single region but was widespread throughout the nation. He wished that these Tribute Walls honoring freedom fighters should be erected across the country.
The Tribute Wall bears the names of 1,040 freedom fighters from across Bharat engraved on marble granite plaques, with a statue of ‘Bharat Mata’ and a 100-feet high national flag placed at its centre. The construction of the tribute wall was undertaken by the Chakra Vision India Foundation Trust, an NGO based in Chennai, to commemorate these freedom fighters as Bharat marks 75 years of Independence. This initiative includes the construction of tribute walls at 75 different locations across the country, including Jammu and Kashmir, West Bengal, Gujarat, Puducherry, and the Andaman and Nicobar Islands.
The Tribute Wall at the Head Quarters of Vivekananda Kendra in Kanyakumari is the first in Tamil Nadu and will add to the many special features of the Vivekanandapuram Campus.
