Gurupurnima is one of the five Utsavas celebrated in Vivekananda Kendra. In Kendra, Omkara is revered as the Guru, and every year, Gurupurnima is celebrated grandly by all branch centers and projects of Vivekananda Kendra across Bharat.
This year, Vivekananda Kendra Kanyakumari, West Bengal Prant celebrated Gurupurnima at 35 places in West Bengal and Andaman, with a total participation of 4,155 people. The details of programs Vibhag-wise are given below:
- Eknath Vibhag: 17 places, 329 participants
- Shantiniketan Vibhag: 4 places, 67 participants
- Uttarbanga Vibhag: 1 place, 12 participants
- Vidyasagar Vibhag: 1 place, 50 participants
- Bangla Prakashan Vibhag: 1 place, 14 participants
- VKVs Andaman (Prakalpa): 11 places, 3,683 participants
The celebrations held at public places included Bhajans, insightful lectures, and Pushpanjali to Omkar. In the programs held at Vivekananda Kendra Vidyalayas in Andaman, the students sought and received blessings from their teachers.
This year's celebrations beautifully upheld the cherished Bharatiya Samskriti, showcasing the deep-rooted reverence for the Guru Parampara of Bharat.
