Gurupurnima is one of the five Utsavas celebrated in Vivekananda Kendra. In Kendra, Omkara is revered as the Guru, and every year, Gurupurnima is celebrated grandly by all branch centers and projects of Vivekananda Kendra across Bharat.

This year, Gurupurnima was celebrated grandly in the 11 Vivekananda Kendra Vidyalayas in the Andaman, West Bengal Prant. A total of 3,683 participants took part in the celebrations. The Vidyalaya-wise details of the programme are as follows:

 

VKV Port Blair

1,112 students participated in the Gurupurnima celebration held at VKV Port Blair. During the event, the toppers of Class X and XII for the academic year 2023-2024 were felicitated, appreciating their hard work and dedication. Chief Guest Swami Shuddhanand Saraswatiji Maharaj enlightened the gathering with his speech. The event concluded with the Shanti Mantra.

 

VKZPV Port Mout

On 20th July 2024, Gurupurnima was celebrated at VKZPV Port Mout with the participation of 650 students. Smt. M. Rajni Adhyaksha, Zilla Parishad, South Andaman, was the Chief Guest, and Sri B. Shanmugam, Proprietor of Laxmi Jewellery, Tusnabad, was the Guest of Honour. Topper students of the academic sessions 2022-23 and 2023-24 were felicitated along with their parents. Thereafter, the Chief Guest addressed the gathering. All the Teaching and Non-Teaching Staff of the school attended the programme, which concluded with the Shanti Mantra.

 

VKNPV Ranchi Tekri

On 20th July 2024, Vivekananda Kendra Nagar Palika Vidyalaya, Ranchi Tekri, observed Gurupurnima at 9 a.m. A total of 92 participants including students, teachers and parents participated in the programme. Smt. Archana Singh, Principal GSSS Girls, DEO (in charge), and former Principal DIET graced the occasion as the Chief Guest and inspired students to excel not only within the school but also on a broader scale. The ceremony included floral tributes to spiritual gurus and trophy presentations to AISSE toppers in the presence of their parents. Additionally, in connection with Gurupurnima, Swadhyaya was conducted on 19th July in which all the teachers participated.

 

VKZPV Ferrargunj

Gurupurnima was celebrated at VKZPV Ferrargunj on 20th July 2024, with the participation of 86 participants including students and staff. Smt. Vinodhiny didi shared the significance of Gurupurnima and the role of the Guru in life. The programme also included chanting of shlokas and bhajans.

 

ZPVKV Shore Point

ZPVKV Shore Point celebrated Gurupurnima on 20th July 2024. A total of 292 participants including 275 students, 13 teachers, and 4 non-teaching staff attended the programme. Teacher Ms. N. Ramiya gave a brief speech on the significance of the day. A few students delivered speeches and sang Guru Bhajans. The programme concluded with pushpanjali to Omkar by the students and teachers.

 

VKV Hutbay

On 20th July 2024, Gurupurnima was celebrated at VKV Hutbay. About 120 students along with all the teaching and non-teaching staff were present to celebrate the auspicious day. The students sang Guru Bhajans enthusiastically. Teacher Sri Manmada Rao addressed the students and motivated them. The programme concluded with the Shanti Mantra.

 

VKZPV Kadamtala

The Gurupurnima celebration at Vivekananda Kendra Zila Parishad Vidyalaya in Kadamtala took place on 20th July. The students and teachers sang melodious Guru Bhajans together. Following that, students approached their teachers to seek their blessings. This gesture symbolized the deep respect and gratitude the students hold for their mentors, acknowledging the vital role teachers play in shaping their lives and futures. 256 participants including students and staff students participated.

 

VKV Rangat

Gurupurnima was celebrated at VKV Rangat on 20th July and at Gram Panchayat, Parnashala, Rangat on 21st July 2024. Students, parents, villagers, other dignitaries, and well-wishers attended the program. Aadharneeya Varsha Bujone didi, Secretary, Vivekananda Kendra Vidyalayas, Andaman, addressed the participants and spoke on the significance of the “Gurupurnima” celebration in Vivekananda Kendra. A total of 150 people attended the programmes.

 

VKZPV Basantipur

Gurupurnima was celebrated at VKZPV Basantipur on 20th July 2024, with the participation of 282 participants. Following Guru Bhajans, Sri Kaushik ji addressed the participants and explained the significance of Gurupurnima and Guru Shishya Parampara. Then, Smt. Ajitha explained about the unsung hero Khudiram Bose, which was very inspiring for the students. Following that, Sri Sanjay ji shared a few words on Gurupurnima. Aadharneeya Varsha Didi interacted with students and motivated them to be responsible citizens. The programme concluded with the Shanti Mantra.

 

VKZPV Pahalgaon

VKZPV Pahalgaon celebrated Gurupurnima at Durga Mandir Complex on 21st July 2024. Students, their parents, school staff members, and villagers assembled at the temple complex and observed the auspicious day with utter devotion and enthusiasm. A total of 109 devotees participated.

 

VKZPV Diglipur

VKZPV Diglipur celebrated Gurupurnima at the school premises. The program began with the lighting of the lamp and included songs and speeches presented by both teachers and students. The students sought and received blessings from their teachers. A total of 534 students participated in the celebration.
