On the auspicious occasion of Gurupurnima, Vivekananda Kendra Kanyakumari, Dakshin Prant, Karnataka Vibhag, Mysore Nagar celebrated Gurupurnima at the Kendra Karyalaya in Jayanagar on 21st July 2024.
Gurupurnima is one of the five Utsavas celebrated in Vivekananda Kendra. In Kendra, Omkara is regarded as the Guru, and every year, Gurupurnima is celebrated grandly by all branch centers of Vivekananda Kendra across Bharat.
In the program held at Jayanagar, 28 people actively participated. The program began with a prayer, followed by the chanting of Guru Asthaka, Guru Stotra, and Aditya Hrudya Stotra. Soulful Bhajans were sung to enrich the atmosphere. Aadharneeya Sri C.V. Gopinath Ji addressed the participants, highlighting the importance of Guru, Guru Mahime, and Guru Parampara. He also spoke about the Guru's role in Buddhism, Jainism, and Sikhism and briefed on the role of parents as Gurus. The celebration concluded with Kendra Prarthana.
