Vivekananda Kendra Kanyakumari, Dakshin Prant, Karnataka Vibhag, Marathahalli Branch organized the “Prerana - Igniting the Power of Youth” workshop for first-year Commerce students of RJS PU College in Koramangala. The workshop, held on July 20, 2024, aimed to guide students on goal setting and the path to success. During the event, Gurupurnima was celebrated, with 198 students participating.
Fifteen NSS volunteers and five staff members effectively supported the event. The organizing team consisted of ten Karyakartas led by Sri Bharath Anna, RT Nagar Karyapaddati Pramukh. Sri Shirish Anna and Ms. Gayathri Akka from Vivekananda Kendra were the Chief Guests. Dr. M. Suresha, the Principal of PU College, and Sri Vasudev Babu, the Governing Council Member, presided over the event.
The workshop schedule included Yoga, games, an activity on goal setting, group discussions, and presentations. Prayers and patriotic songs were sung by the college students. In the event of Gurupurnima, the RJS students expressed their gratitude to their gurus through speeches and paid respect to their lecturers by singing the bhajan “Guru Mata Pita, Guru Bandhu Sakha,” which emotionally touched everyone present.
Follow-up Plans:
- Discussion on regular monthly activities at the college was agreed.
- Volunteers from the PU College will support the next workshop at RJS School on July 27, 2024.
- The Principal discussed inviting Kallubalu students for a Mallakamba presentation.
- The Principal expressed interest in planning an NSS camp at Kallubalu.
- The next program for RJS PU College is to repeat the same workshop for science students.
The students and staff of RJS PU College provided positive feedback on the event.
