Vivekananda Kendra Kanyakumari, Dakshin Prant, Karnataka Vibhag, Mysore Nagar celebrated Gurupurnima at the Anandalaya held in Beedanahalli village on 23rd July 2024.
Gurupurnima is one of the five Utsavas celebrated in Vivekananda Kendra. In Kendra, Omkara is regarded as the Guru, and every year, Gurupurnima is celebrated grandly by all branch centers of Vivekananda Kendra across Bharat.
Anandalaya is an initiative by Vivekananda Kendra to provide non-formal educational support to needy children while instilling patriotism and cultural values in them. One such Anandalaya is conducted in Beedanahalli Village in Mysore.
The Gurupurnima celebration at Anandalaya saw the participation of 31 students. Kum. Meghana, serving as the Anandalaya Acharya, guided the students through the event. The students chanted Gurushloka and were taught soulful bhajans, enriching their understanding and appreciation of the significance of Gurupurnima.
The event was a meaningful and engaging celebration, reflecting the core values of Vivekananda Kendra and cultivating reverence for the Guru among the young participants.
