Vivekananda Kendra Kanyakumari, Dakshin Prant, Tamilnadu Vibhag, VK Rural Development Programme, Kovilpatti branch celebrated the triple festival of Gita Jayanti, the Birth Anniversary of Maa Sarada Devi, and Grand Anna Puja with great splendor at Sri Gayatri Mandapam, Kovilpatti.

The event commenced with the ceremonial lighting of the lamp by Smt. Kalimuthu Jayalakshmi, followed by a prayer by Kum. Vaishnavi, a student from Sri Durga Sanskar Varga. The welcome address was delivered by Sri Ramesh Kumar, a well-wisher of Vivekananda Kendra.

The devotional atmosphere was enhanced by Smt. Kavita, who chanted the Annapurna Stotram, and Smt. Sangeetha, who recited verses from the Bhagavad Gita. Sisters from the Kovilpatti Sri Sarada Sanmarga Sangam sang the Gita Aarathi song, while Smt. Ganeswari and Smt. Muthulakshmi performed the aarathi to Annapoorna Devi.

Sri Radhakrishnan, Chairman of Sri Gayatri Mandapam, presented the rice collected from the public to Sri Ayyappan, Secretary of VK Rural Development Programme. The collected rice was then distributed to destitute elders.

Sri N. Krishnamurthy ji, a senior Jeevan-vratti karyakarta and editor of Vivekavani magazine, blessed the gathering and spoke on the topic of Amrit Parivar as described in the Bhagavad Gita. Sri Ayyappan ji addressed the gathering with his greetings, emphasizing the importance of selfless service. Sri Veluchamy, a senior yoga instructor from Kovilpatti, presented mementos to the well-wishers of Vivekananda Kendra, acknowledging their contributions.

The celebration witnessed the enthusiastic participation of more than 250 people. A remarkable 6,250 kilograms of rice was collected by the dedicated volunteers and workers of Vivekananda Kendra.

The event was meticulously organized by Sri Paramaguru ji, Joint Secretary of VK Rural Development Programme, with the support of teachers and volunteers from Vivekananda Kendra.
