Vivekananda Kendra Kanyakumari, Arunachal Prant, Vivekananda Kendra Arun Jyoti, organized a free ENT surgery camp on 29th and 30th November 2024 in collaboration with the Zonal General Hospital, Aalo (West Siang District), and Meenakshi ENT Specialty Hospital, Bengaluru.
The camp successfully conducted 15 ear and nose surgeries, including an emergency case of a nose fracture. Additionally, 180 patients were examined in the OPD for various ENT-related issues. Patients from the districts of West Siang, East Siang, Leparada, Siang, and Si Yomi benefitted from the initiative.
The screening process for the camp began in the first week of November. Dr. L.D. Chada, the ENT specialist at Aalo General Hospital, screened over 175 patients and identified suitable cases for surgery well in advance.
The camp was inaugurated on 29th November in the conference hall of General Hospital, Aalo, by IPS Sri Tumme Amo, Senior Superintendent of Police. Dr. D. Bagra, the District Medical Officer, graced the occasion as the guest of honor. The inaugural event witnessed the presence of many prominent citizens of Aalo township.
It is noteworthy that the ENT team from Bengaluru, led by Dr. Pradeep Kumar P.S., has been serving Arunachal Pradesh since 2002. Over the years, Dr. Pradeep Kumar and his team have successfully performed more than 500 ENT surgeries in the region.
