Vivekananda Kendra Kanyakumari, Dakshin Prant, Tamilnadu Vibhag, Vivekananda Kendra Rural Development Programme – Peyankuzhi Branch organised Cultural Competitions on 5th & 6th August 2023 at two places in Kanyakumari with an active participation of 230 students.
On 5th August 2023, the Cultural Competitions were conducted at Government Higher Secondary School, Suchindram, Kanyakumari. 145 students participated in the competitions. 35 parents and 5 teachers were also present and the organising team consisted of 8 Kendra Karyakarthas.
On 6th August 2023, the Cultural Competitions were held at V.K.P Higher Secondary School, Colachel, Kanyakumari. 85 students from 5 schools participated in the competitions. The organising team consisted of 5 teachers, 7 Kendra Karyakarthas and 6 other volunteers.
At both venues, cultural competitions such as drawing, storytelling, and poem recitation were organized for the students. The primary objective of these competitions is to introduce and foster an appreciation for Indian culture among the children.
