Spiritual Retreat of this year, started from the evening of 07.08.2014, Thursday with Bhajan Sandhya. Mananeeya Praveenji formally inaugurated the Shibir in the morning of 8.08.2014.
All together there were 47 participants from 8 states namely, Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Maharashtra, West Bengal, Andhra Pradesh, Kerala & Tamil Nadu and to union territories of Goa and Delhi.
Out of them 18 were Sisters and 29 were Brothers medium of instruction was in English for the Rig Veda Group, where as for the other three groups viz. Yajur, Sama and Atharva Veda, the medium was in Hindi.
Only the lecture sessions and Yoga practice were conducted separately while – Prayer, Omkar Dhyana, Bhojan, Bhajan Geet Satra were together.
The daily routine which was followed from 8th August onwards included morning prayers and yoga class followed by breakfast and Sramanubhav. At 9.30 am was the day’s first Lecture, followed by group discussion or manthan and geeth abhyas. Luch was at 12.30, 3.00pm was the tea, and the 2nd session was at 3.30pm followed by OMKAR – DHYANA. Bhjan was at 6.30pm follow by supper at 7.30 pm and Anand Mela at 8.15pm every day.
The topics covered were as follows 1. Concept Spirituality, Kendra Parthana, Upanishad, KarmaYoga Shloka Sangrah, Vivekananda Kendra A Thought Movment, Story of Vivekananda Rock Memorial, Vivekananda Kendra Activities, Eknathji and Purposeful life and the participants were taken for the rock visit as well as campus visit.
Group photograph was taken and birthdays of 2 participants were celebrated during the retreat. All the sisters prepared Puran Poli Maharashtriyan Sweet dish for all the participants. Presence of Dr. M. Laxmi didi Former President of Vivekananda Kendra and present director of Vivekananda Kendra Vedic Vision foundation was a great privilege this time.
Of all no participant suffered for only injury or illness during the Shibir. At the end there was state wise sitting with all the participants & almost all of them assured to work directly or indirectly for Kendra.
