Vivekananda Kendra & Vivekananda Kendra Vidyalaya celebrated 149th Birth day of Swami Vivekananda, Annual day of Vivekananda Kendra Vidyalaya & National Youth day. Swami Vivekananda as national monk wanted the younger generation to strive hard to uplift our nation & make our Bharat ‘Jagath Guru’. The whole idea behind the youth festival was to propagate the concept of national integration, spirit of brotherhood & adventure among the youth.
Fifty students shrouded as Swamiji & band boys came in procession from Gandhi Mandapam to our V.K.V.school.
Our function was inaugurated with the lighting of the lamp by our honorable chief guest Smt. S. Mathumathi, I.A.S., our District Collector. She received the jothi, which signified the youth force, brought from Gandhi Mandapam by our students.
Mother & motherland are of God’s gratest blessings. We payed our salutation to Mother Bharath through the song, Vandematharam.
“Small cheer & great welcome makes a merry feast”. According to this quote, our V.K.V. Principal, Sri.S.Abraham Lingom welcomed the gathering & presented the annual report during the year 2010-2011.
“ A good music enters the mind with faulty & quits the memory with difficulty”. Our students of VIII std sung a song in praise of Swami Vivekananda, the guiding force of our school.
Our special guest, Dr. Manickam M.A.;M.Phil; Ph.D; the Registrar of Manonmaniam Sundaranar University, who gives research guidance to M.Phil & Ph.D students delivered the special address. He stressed the students to be good in thought, word and deed.
“ Keep a winning attitude & you can never lose” said Swamiji. Our students were honoured by awarding prize for their outstanding performance in the extra-curricular activities. The prizes were given by our guests.
Mananeeya A. Balakrishnanji released the book “ Inspired lives to inspired life” and offered the first copy to the chief guest Smt. Madumathi & second copy to our special guest Dr. Manickam. The book contains an interesting stories of Swamiji, Sri. Ramakrishan Paramahamsa, Saratha Devi, Gandhiji etc.
Our district collector, Smt. Mathumathi, a dynamic & notable personality gave an inspiring speech. Her interaction with the students was fantastic. She gave four tips to achieve success and to be happy. They are discipline, goal, knowledge & hardwork.
Our Vice President of V.K. Mann. Balakrishnanji, presented the memento to the guest & blessed the occasion by his presidential address.
The gathering were thanked by our administrative officer, Sri. Krishna Swami.
This was continued by the cultural programme by our V.K.V. students. The guests, parents, Kendra karya karthas, children, teaching & non-teaching staff were thrilled & enjoyed by the performance of our V.K.V. sssstudents.
