On one particular day when I was coming to the crèche, I met a teacher from “Aldrin English-Medium School”. While walking along, she said, “We do not have any problem with the children coming from your school, at all, because they all know how to read, write and are very studious. The other students are not up to this level and we have to put extra efforts to make them equal to your students”. She also added “To most of the parents, we do not hesitate to tell, “Please send your child to one of the Vivekananda Kendra schools for about a year and then bring them here for admission”. Noting this we felt proud and happy.

I had recently joined here, as a teacher. I was asked to go to collect the “Amutha Surabhi” from door to door. Initially I felt delicate to ask for the same and was very socio-conscious. But to whom so ever I asked, they were never a “NO’ from their side and each and every house used to welcome me and give me the rice. They also ask about the current activities of the Kendra and these made me more confident and happy to be associated with Vivekananda Kendra.

We have a student who is just 18 months old. Initially his parents hesitated to send him to school at such an early age, but with our convincing talks they finally agreed to send him to our Balwadi. This happened some time back.

Recently, his mother had come to our school and was very happy on seeing the progress of her child. She said, “My child is very, very active now and is very much interested in studies. He has also turned very much spiritual and prays whenever he sees any of the Lord’s photo. He sings well and though we do not understand, we still enjoy his singing. Now, we feel happy to have sent him to school at such an early age, though we were hesitant, initially.” On hearing this, I felt very satisfied, elated and happy.

Mr. J. Jagadeepan was a student of balwadi, long back and is now employed in a hospital at Senmangalai. He regularly visits our balwadi. During his recent visit, he had donated about 50 bottles of syrup for treating fever, which we distributed to all the parents of our wards. The effect is said to be very good and we are all happy on this noble cause of our ex-student.
