Yoga Shikha Shibir was organised from 1-15 December 2011 at c, Vivekananda Kendra, Kanyakumari. In all 66 participants (Sisters-25, Brothers-41 ) from the states of : Assam, West Bengal, Arunachal Pradesh, Delhi, Rajasthan, Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, Kerala and Tamilnadu, Germany, Spain, SriLanka and France were trained in Raja Yoga, Bhakti Yoga, Jnan Yoga and Karma Yoga through Theory sessions and Practicals.
Lectures were on also on Bhagavad Gita, Kendra Prarthana, Indian Culture, Challenges, Swami Vivekananda, Ekanathji, Happiness Analysis, Story of Vivekananda Rock Memorial, Vivekananda Kendra movement and activities, and the forthcoming Swami Vivekananda’s Sardh Shati Samaroh.
The daily routine of the camp included Pratahasmaran, Geeta Pathan, Yogabhyas, Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner, Shram Samskar, Lecture sessions, Manthan, Meditation, Bhajan Sandhya and Happy assembly. Participants practiced Omkar and Cyclic Meditations.
Daily thought provoking “Manthan-Group Discussion” was conducted on thoughts of Swami Vivekananda wherein the participants exhibited their team coordination, analytical and communicating skills.
Documentaries on Vivekananda Rock Memorial, Vivekananda Kendra Vidyalaya and Vivekananda Kendra Vocational Training Centre Khatkhati were shown to the participants.
During the Camp, Participants visited Vivekananda Rock Memorial, Marut Malai, Suchindram Temple, Wandering Monk Exhibition, Devi Temple, Gramodaya Park, Vivekananda Pictorial Exhibition and Gangotri Exhibitions.
During Happy assembly in the evening, participants shared their artistic and creative talents, and enjoyed games, songs and a Special Magic Show.
In all, the Camp was conducted in moderate discipline wherein the participants participated with the spirit of learning, sharing and experiencing.
Many Participants expressed the desire to serve the society through Vivekananda Kendra.
