Raksha bandhan
Vivekananda Kendra Bangalore Branch celebrated Raksha Bandhan on two days. On 13th August 2011 v.k. Bangalore celebrated Raksha Bandhan in Kendra by tying Rakhi and distributing sweats and nagar pramuk said about the importance of Raksha Bandhan. On 16th August Samskar Vargakaryakartas led by Sri Niragji, (Samskar Varga Pramukh) went to different houses in local areas and they tied rakhi ‘s to nearly 250 people and told them importance of Raksha Bandhan.
Independence day
On 15th august 2011,v.k Bangalore celebrated the independence day at morning 6.15a.m by hoisting the flag through the hands of sri. Shalini.Sri nirag dave,samskarvarga spoke about our 64th independence day and samskar varga karyakartas sang patriotic song in kannada and they played drama on onake obova,a brave female soldier of Karnataka.35 participants were there.
Janmastami
For janmastami celebration , competition were conducted for children. Breaking ( curd-pot) Dahi hundi program was conducted in RT Nagar, Ananda Nagar and Vidhyaranyapuram . on 21st Aug in RT Nagar 3groups Brothers , sisters and children played Dahi hundi. Film on Sri Krishna was Shown and on the basis of the film shown Quiz on Sri Krishna was conducted. On 22nd Aug evening, Bhajan and keerthan were conducted by Bhajan mandali till Mid- night, followed by Dahi hundi play at RT Nagar.
Universal Brother hood Day.
In Vk Bangalore Universal Brotherhood Day was celebrated at 3 places in grand manner. In RT Nagar, on 11th September 2011 at 5.45 pm UB day programme was started . the chief guest was Sri Vishwanathji, Management Trainer , who spoke about programme of UB Day and its need of the hour. Guest was Sri Manjunathji, Principal of oxford D.Ed college. Total 160 participants are there. Different competition were conducted for UB Day and Janmastami celebration. Prizes were also distributed to the children,Dinner was also arranged.
In Vidhyaranyapuram , 11th September morning at 10.30am UB Day was celebrated . the chief Guest was sri krishnamurthiji and 25 participated were there.
In Kamala bai college, queens road , UB Day celebration was celebrated an 8th September, 120 students were there. Aa Nageshji, Secretary of VK kalluballu Vidhyalya and Jeevan Vruthi Karyakarta spoke on Universal Brotherhood Day , when? Why? How ? And also arrised Students for Vijaya Poorna Vijaya Maha shibir of Karnataka
GURU PURNIMA
Vivekananda Kendra Bangalore Branch Celebrated Guru Poornima at 2 Places for 2 days.
In RT Nagar on the Day of Vyasa Pournami, 15th July 2011 evening at 6pm. 50 sisters assembled together and did Pournami Pooja followed by Bhajan. Our karyakarta su. Chaitra told about speciality of Pournami and importance of pooja.Our elderly Karyakartas Ratna didi and Dharni didi inaugurated the Deepa pooja celebration. Our second day celebration was on Sunday 17th July 2011 at 10.a.m. Our Varishta Karyakarta and also the chairman of Adarsha college Smt Radha Rangaswamy spoke on who is Guru? How to get Guru and about Guru parampara.
In Vidhyaranyapuram, Bangalore, Gurupurnima programme was celebrated an 17th July 2011, Sunday evening at 6 to 8pm. The Chief guest is was sri Chandra shekarji , principal of Oxford B.Ed college and also Varishta Karyakarta of Kendra, who talked about Guru Parampara and need of guru in our life, followed this Matru pooja was conducted. In the pooja, 16 children and parent had done pooja. Our Karyakarta su. Chaitra conducted the pooja.

Navarathri Celebration
In vk Bangalore, Mahila Mandal celebrated navarathri by doing pooja to sri devi and every Day chanted Lalitha sahasranamam, and mahishasuramardini stotram. Nearly 30 people participated.
