The Vivekananda Jayanti was celebrated in Tinsukia in a unique way. Vivekananda Kendra Vidyalaya, Laipuli, Tinsukia is the first VK Vidyalaya in Assam started in 1978. Today it has classes from KG to Cl XII with 1309 students, 68 Teaching and 27 Non-teaching staff.

Librarian), Band Trainer for Vivekananda Kendra Shiksha Prasar Vibhag.
Vivekananda Kendra, Assam Prant recently organized a few medical camps in the tea garden areas of Dibrugarh and Tinsukia districts. Four camps were organized in Tinsukia(Dirial, Gate Chariali, Jungle Basti and Borjan) and two(Pathalibam, Tingrai Balijan) camps were organized in Dibrugarh districts. 614 patients were examined in the camp and medicines were distributed. Dr.Prema S. a General Practitioner from Mumbai came voluntarily to render the service to the poor and needy. The mobile medical van team of Vivekananda Kendra Arun Jyoti also got involved in these camps.
