Vivekananda Kendra Vidhyalaya

The twin festivals Gokulashtami and Rakshabandhan  were celebrated with an intense fervour on 27th August in our school. The festival ceremony started at 11.00 a.m. in the presence of Mrs. Janaki Pushpam,  Dist  Incharge, RDP, Vivekananda Kendra.  The programme was started by prayer song. One of our teacher    Mrs.

“Unity in diversity” is the special feature of our Country.  On 15th August 1947, India attained freedom from the British rule.  So the Independence Day is therefore celebrated with great rejoicing all over the Country.  On this special occasion, rich tributes are paid to the freedom fighters who sacrificed their lives and fought to free our mother land from the clutches of shook off the shackles of British rule a

Independence Day was celebrated in a grand manner on 15.08.2013. Shri. Hariharan,  Manager,  Canara  Bank,  Vallioor  hoisted our National flag and delivered an inspiring speech on patriotism.   Shri. Ayyappan, Secretary of RDP,  was the special guest.  Varieties of cultural programmes which reflected the theme of patriotism and our heritage made the function a successful one.

A remark from a nine year old newly admitted hosteller of a winter vacation school appeared to be a bolt from the blue, making me contemplative.

North east level Karate competition was held in Guwahati. Around 600 participants from 8 states of North east participated in this event In the Assam team there were 5 students from VKV,Tingrai. In the competition 2 of them, Limba Hajarika and Nisanta Samuah begged bronze and silver medal respectively in their groups.

Similarly two students Tonmoy Duarah and Bishal Sarmah of VKV,Tingrai went to participate National level Kunfu championship held at New Delhi and both of them begged Gold medal in their groups.

Ratu.l Phukan and Jitu Buraguhain, 2 electricians who are working in VKV Tinsukia, previously prepared solar street light, now generate electricity by peddling cycle. ..
Both the boys had been to Pune and got training to assemble and maintain Energy Cycles. They have brought 2 models with them.
Model 1: Charges battery. 30 minutes of peddling can light a CFL bulb for 36 hours.

VKV- Itanagar shines in Class XII Examination
This was the headline of a leading newspaper in Arunachal Pradesh. All the 74 students appeared in AISSSE – 2013 came out with flying colours and made record.
