The Maha Kumbh Mela 2025, a significant Hindu festival, held every 12 years at the Triveni Sangam in Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh, will take place from January 13 to February 26, 2025, drawing over 400 million visitors.
Vivekananda Kendra Kanyakumari, Uttar Pradesh Prant will organize the Yuva Maha Kumbh from January 20 to February 26, 2025 at the Maha Kumbh. This event will gather youth and students from across the country, united by Swami Vivekananda, whose birth anniversary on January 12 is celebrated as National Youth Day.
On January 12, the Sangam Snan of Swami Vivekananda’s murti was performed, and the Murti was installed at the Sangam. Afterward, the Prana Pratishta ceremony was conducted, and the Bhagwa Dhwaj was hoisted in his honor.
From January 20, Yuva Maha Kumbh will host students, teachers, and youth preparing for competitive exams. They will attend workshops to discuss Swami Vivekananda's ideas, meditate, and reflect on his vision for the future of India.
Swami Vivekananda visited Prayagraj after Varanasi in 1889, and the coincidence of the Maha Kumbh with his birth anniversary makes the occasion even more special for those inspired by his visionary thoughts.
Participants will explore the wisdom in Swami Vivekananda's teachings and the Kendra's efforts in teaching underprivileged children and promoting values in today's nuclear families.
The Maha Kumbh Mela started in Prayagraj with the first major bathing on Paush Poornima (January 13) will culminate on Mahashivratri (February 26).
