7days Personality Development Camp was held from 25-04-2019 to 01-05-2019, at `Need Base India`, Rain Bow Home, campus, Jalalahalli village near Vidyaranyapura, Bengaluru for the inmates of the Need Base India institution. The institution is supporting the orphans, destitute and poor. This is only for girls studying from primary level to college level. There were 50 students in our camp from primary level to degree students. Certain activities were confined only to High school to Degree students. Camp timing was from 2.30pm to 6pm.
Smt. Shilpa, Home Management Co-ordinator of `Rain Bow Home’ helped us in all respects. Kendra`s resource person Smt. Gita Niranjan Co-ordinated the entire camp activities. VK Bangaluru samiti members Sri. K.Satyanarayana and Smt Dayamani Prasad, were with us throughout the camp lending their full support in conducting the camp. Vivekananda Kendra Bengaluru Yoga Varga Pramukh Sri Anikethan demonstrated certain Yoga Techniques and arranged sports and games to participants.
Daily the camp starts with prayer, shanthi mantra, Gita Chanting, Dhyana, Pranayama followed by Yoga Asana practice. We have also conducted various Games to enhance their memory and skills. Boudhik sessions were being taken by guests on subjects like Rocket technology, the leadership building, health awareness, speeches on Swamy Vivekananda and his messages, significance of our National Anthem, Indian History, carrier building, value based information etc,. A cricket team from Australia lead by one of the coach visited during the camp and inspired the participants and demonstrated some technique of cricket game. A team led by SuSri. Lalitha Didi, Life worker and Secretary of VKV Kallubalu, took craft classes for the benefit of participants involving them in learning and practicing. The notable persons who took boudhik sessions were Sri Prakash, scientist from ISRO, Smt. Vidya Rao (Personality development and Leader ship building), Dr. Shylaja (Health awareness), Smt. Chandrakala(Histroy lecturer), Sri Satyanarayana and Smt Dayamani(both our committee members).
Smt. Gita Niranjan, resources person, took several classes on Indian culture and heritage, mathematical problems, puzzles, general knowledge on Ramayana, Mahabharata, Indian great personalities, through quiz, tests etc,. Smt. Shilpa, co-ordinator of the institution was the chief guest.
The PDC camp was appreciated by all the participants, faculty of the institution and others which was expressed on the concluding function with shower of praises. Vote of thanks given by VK Bangaluru Vyavastha Pramukh Sri K. Satyanaryana.
