Vivekananda Kendra Kanyakumari, Dakshin Prant, Karnataka Vibhag, R.T. Nagar Branch, organised Universal Brotherhood Day programme at M.S. Convent School, Manoranya Palaya, R.T. Nagar on 10th September, 2023. A total of 214 people including 120 school students, 12 teachers, 24 parents, 15 Karyakarta, 40 Samskar varga children, 4 Judges, and 1 Chief Guest participated in the programme.
Pujyasri Swami Abhayananda Ji Maharaj from Ramakrishna Vivekananda Vedanta Ashrama, Yelahanka, graced the occasion as the Chief Guest.
The program commenced with a prayer and Deepaprajwalan. An invocation dance and group dance were performed by the Samhita School of Performing Arts, and Sri. Bharath Anna sang a song dedicated to Swami Vivekananda.
This event was primarily organized for school children. The VK R.T. Nagar Team reached out to 22 schools, and approximately 12 schools participated, bringing together 120 students.
The Inter-School competition featured three categories: Patriotic group, English Speech, and Kannada Speech. Prizes, including books from Vivekananda Kendra and VKIC, were awarded to the winners. All participants received certificates, books, and a photo of Swami Vivekananda as tokens of appreciation.
The event was well-coordinated by the VK R.T. Nagar Team and received appreciation from the participating schools. Additionally, three schools, namely Poorna Smrithi, Navodaya, and Government School Ganganagar, expressed their willingness to offer their premises for Vivekananda Kendra activities.
