Vivekananda Kendra Kanyakumari, Karnataka Prant, Chamundeshwari Devi Vibhag, Mysuru Nagarsthan, organized a Swadhyaya Competition on 5 October 2026 at Sheshadripuram First Grade College, Mysuru. A total of 58 students registered, of whom 49 participated in the competition.

The competition was based on the Kannada book “Swami Vivekananda Jeevana Mattu Sandesha,” published by Vivekananda Kendra Kannada Prakashan. The book introduces students to the inspiring life, teachings and message of Swami Vivekananda, encouraging them to reflect on his ideals of character-building, self-confidence, patriotism and service to the nation.

The Swadhyaya Competition is a book-based examination initiative of Vivekananda Kendra aimed at promoting the habit of purposeful reading and self-study among youth. Students are provided with selected books on Bharatiya culture, ithihas, spirituality, national heroes and inspiring personalities, which they study in preparation for the examination. Selected students are subsequently given opportunities to participate in Youth Leadership Development Workshops at different levels, enabling them to deepen their understanding and develop leadership qualities.

The competition provided a meaningful opportunity for students to engage with Swami Vivekananda's life and message through systematic study and reflection. The initiative encouraged intellectual development, value-based learning and a spirit of self-improvement, inspiring young minds towards the ideals of Man-Making and Nation-Building.
