Vivekananda Kendra Vidyalaya Matriculation Higher Secondary School, Vallioor, celebrated Teachers’ Day on 5 September 2026 at 2:30 p.m. with joy and enthusiasm. The programme witnessed the participation of 643 students and staff members and was presided over by Shri S.K. Subramanian Ji, Correspondent, VKV MHSS, Vallioor.

Teachers’ Day is observed on the birth anniversary of Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan, renowned scholar, philosopher and former President of India, to honour the contribution of teachers in shaping the lives and character of students.

The programme was graced by the Correspondent, Principal and Vice-Principal. It commenced with a prayer song, followed by a Guru song presented by the students as an expression of respect and gratitude towards their teachers. The students themselves compered the programme and delivered the welcome address.

As a special activity, students from Class VI onwards took on the role of teachers and conducted classes for students of Classes I to V. The activity gave them an opportunity to experience the responsibilities of a teacher. Students who performed well were recognized and awarded prizes based on their confidence, discipline, presentation and effective handling of the classes.

Students also delivered a speech highlighting the importance of Teachers’ Day and the role of teachers in guiding and shaping their lives. Fun-filled games and activities were organized for the teachers, adding joy and interaction to the celebration.

The programme concluded on a happy and meaningful note, expressing the students’ love, respect and gratitude towards their teachers and reinforcing the importance of the Guru-Shishya relationship in education and character-building.
